This class will explain several software solutions offered for the i.MX 8. SafeAssure software allows for a system partitioning that takes full advantage of the ability of some of the safety features of the i.MX 8. Fast Path software allows to route/bridge data between 2 network interfaces in order to maximize data routing performance with minimum CPU load requirements to the main processor. Trusted Environment allows for fully leveraging the Arm® Trustzone capability.

TensorFlow® Lite, ArmNN, and GLOW are popular open-source machine learning inference frameworks for mobile and IoT devices. In this session, you’ll learn how to use TensorFlow Lite, and ArmNN on NXP i.MX 8 MPU-class devices in Linux, and how to take advantage of not only Arm® Cortex®-A CPU cores, but also dedicated on-chip GPU and NPU accelerators. For NXP i.MX RT MCU-class devices we will introduce two approaches: 1)TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers with CMSIS-NN kernel implementation optimized for Cortex-M cores, and 2) GLOW, a neural network compiler, which generates code “Ahead of Time” for Cortex-M cores and DSP. i.MX 8 product family introduces advanced security subsystem providing state-of-the-art safety of sensitive information and secure software execution. Hardware architecture has evolved over the years to adapt to the extra sense of security required these days and how it is utilized to protect chip secrets. This session will involve going through the security subsystem and overview of the underlying concepts. Both hardware and software aspects of security implementation will be discussed.
