In automotive sub-system applications, it is typical to have a central processing unit that interfaces with other peripheral devices, other sub-systems or the user. Often, the signals from these interconnects may be incompatible on both ends. Therefore, various semiconductor devices such as analog switches, high-speed switches, voltage level translators and GPIO expanders are often used to bridge between the interconnects on the board. In this session, we will explore the application of these interface devices from NXP and discuss their applications in automotive sub-systems.

This training will take a user from “out of box” to a functioning IoT system including edge devices, gateway/border router, smart phone app and cloud connectivity, then run the system through its paces to highlight a subset of common IoT capabilities. The training will leverage the NXP Modular IoT Framework using a currently shipping, fully documented, Integrated Development Experience for the exercises. Southbound connectivity between gateway and the edge devices will be Thread and ZigBee®. Device commissioning will be via NFC and BLE. Northbound connectivity from gateway to cloud will be Wi-Fi. Cloud support will be via a major cloud provider. Note: Users will be able to use their own Android or iPhone with a recent OS version.
