There are many parallels between the adoption of Ethernet in automotive and the adoption of Ethernet in avionics and industrial networking. This session provides an overview of Ethernet in modern aircraft and factory automation, as well as emerging technologies to further improve the suitability of Ethernet for these applications.

This session will go into the detail of the software enablement around the BlueBox v2.0, aka “Blue Box Min”. From an engineering perspective, topics will include: The SoCs in the platform and it’s layout; Booting the individual SoCs; Linux options between and inter-communication between them; Discussion of middleware options (including ROS versions, Polysync and others); How ADAS vision perception is accomplished with Neusoft ADAS perception; Combined to achieve level 2/3 ADAS with AutonomouStuff; Extra topics: OpenCV, OpenSSL security between subsystems and more. Please expect a non-marketing lecture explaining the internals of this enablement.

This session will examine the semiconductor devices that are needed for creating a cost-competitive, modern, fast-chirp, automotive radar sensor. Each essential IC building block will be reviewed for features and function with key attributes/specifications identified. The typical interconnections between ICs will be examined and explained. Radar operating theory will be briefly reviewed to highlight how each hardware block supports the radar sensor operation.

Many people involved in the electronics industry need a basic knowledge of semiconductor components in order to understand issues like manufacturing cycle time, semiconductor fab consolidation and failure analysis results. This session is geared towards a non-technical audience and gives a high-level overview of semiconductor devices and how they are made. The lecture begins with a brief overview of how semiconductor devices work. The bulk of the presentation describes the generic manufacturing flow for semiconductor devices with an emphasis on the complexity of the equipment/facilities used and the process time required.

Although it is has many uses in various applications, we will demonstrate the features and use of FreeMASTER to simplify the development process with a motor control example based on our MagniV MC9S12ZVMRM microcontroller. Participants will see how useful and easy it is to use and configure so that system variables can be adjusted on the fly or watch system parameters real time.
