Planning to do any switching or routing? This course provides an introduction to the principles of Ethernet and TCP/IP networking for non-IT applications. Topics to be reviewed include frame and packet formats, the purpose of various header and trailer fields, security extensions and reliability mechanisms. New developments in ‘soft’ switching will also be covered.
