Adoption of Passive Keyless Entry / Go is growing rapidly, and adding such functionality in the car key introduces challenges for battery life and security. As such, a new class of motion sensor has been developed to address these challenges. In this class, the newest NXP motion sensor, FXLS8962AF, which boasts benchmark power consumption, EMC Class III compliance and full AEC-Q100 qualification is introduced. The sensor has been specifically designed for compatibility with NXP’s all-in-one IC for passive entry keys (i.e. TOKEN), and this class will explain how the two devices are being used together to improve battery life and enhance security in the passive entry system implementation.

NXP leads in the ability to integrate the sensing transducers with the algorithmic computations and the wireless communication channels for TPMS solutions. Leading car OEMs, Tier1s and even tire manufacturers have started to consider and use BLE instead of the standard UHF-band RF interface in TPMS applications. Join this training session to learn about the changing dynamics in TPMS wireless connectivity and the relative merits driving these changes. Further learn about NXPs steps to support these changes with the introduction of a BLE enabled TPMS demo.

In this presentation, we are going to highlight the use of Model-Based Design processes for Vehicle Dynamics and Body Controller that involves electric drives which are typically used by OEM and Tiers 1 for product development. The primary benefit of Model-Based Design is the ability to cover traceability between design artifacts produced as a part of the design process. A traceability path from requirement management tool to software model, code, and finally tests in the hardware-in-the-loop environment is demonstrated. A typical PMSM Field Oriented Control application will be used to demonstrate all the steps shown above using NXP S32K Motor Kit.
