Modern logic provides much more than just the “glue” to connect complex devices in a system. This seminar will detail a case study of an actual customer application and demonstrate how the use of innovative NXP logic devices provides not only technical advantages in device cost, power and board space, but also in system cost related to power supply requirements, product packaging and supply chain costs (inventory, qualification, manufacturing). This seminar is intended for all design engineers, component engineers and purchasing agents with the goal of achieving the most overall cost efficient system design.

This hands-on session sponsored and specially created by Turing Computer, will go over a step-by-step process of how you can add connectivity to your multimedia application using i.MX 6 and Linux. The laboratory will introduce you to the concepts of how to enable a 3G/4G modem under Linux, adding internet connectivity to your product, and will also guide you on how to enable an Wi-Fi radio. The final step will be to enable the bridge between the 3G/4G and Wi-Fi, creating a Hotspot for internet access. The hardware used during the lab is an i.MX 6 based System on Module (SoM) from Turing Computer and their evaluation kit, which includes a Wi-Fi and a 3G/4G module. Among the various applications that could benefit from such feature are: video streaming, IoT gateway, digital signage, automotive multimedia and many others.

Signal integrity, EMI, RFI...They are all the result of how well you manage the Electromagnetic fields in your designs. EM fields live in spaces, not conductors. The material presented focuses on the basic physics of electromagnetic energy, presented in an entertaining and easy-to-understand format with plenty of diagrams. Attendees will discover how understanding the behavior of EM fields can help them to design PCBs that will be more robust and have better EMC performance. This is not rocket science, but an easy-to-understand application of PCB geometry.
