Adoption of Passive Keyless Entry / Go is growing rapidly, and adding such functionality in the car key introduces challenges for battery life and security. As such, a new class of motion sensor has been developed to address these challenges. In this class, the newest NXP motion sensor, FXLS8962AF, which boasts benchmark power consumption, EMC Class III compliance and full AEC-Q100 qualification is introduced. The sensor has been specifically designed for compatibility with NXP’s all-in-one IC for passive entry keys (i.e. TOKEN), and this class will explain how the two devices are being used together to improve battery life and enhance security in the passive entry system implementation.
