imx95 sai1 SAI1_MCLK Hi, The SAI1_MCLK and UART2_RXD of IMX95 are multiplexed. However, UART2 also uses the debug port of M33. My codec is connected to the sai1 interface. How can the PAD_UART2_RXD pin be reused as SAI1_MCLK I tried as follows: pinctrl_sai1: sai1grp { fsl,pins = < IMX95_PAD_UART2_RXD__AONMIX_TOP_SAI1_MCLK 0x31e IMX95_PAD_SAI1_RXD0__AONMIX_TOP_SAI1_RX_DATA_BIT0 0x31e IMX95_PAD_SAI1_TXC__AONMIX_TOP_SAI1_TX_BCLK 0x31e IMX95_PAD_SAI1_TXFS__AONMIX_TOP_SAI1_TX_SYNC 0x31e IMX95_PAD_SAI1_TXD0__AONMIX_TOP_SAI1_TX_DATA_BIT0 0x31e >; }; However, the following error will be reported: [2.079005] scmi-pinctrl-imx scmi_dev.8: Error set config-13 [2.084536] scmi-pinctrl-imx scmi_dev.8: pin_config_set op failed for pin 118

TypeA Layer3 Card Detection on PN7642 Hello All, I'm using the demo pnev7642fama_Nfcrdlib_SimplifiedAPI_ISO_Freertos_Pub for card detection, there are E_PH_NFCLIB_MIFARE_CLASSIC_1K and E_PH_NFCLIB_TYPEA_LAYER4  application cases, and it works well. But there is no application for E_PH_NFCLIB_TYPEA_LAYER3, I tried to implement the application based on the card datasheet, but  there was no response, the status of phNfcLib_Transmit() was always 0x20000. The card used are FM1208-10 and FM1216. I couldn't find the reason.  I have no idea why there is no application case for E_PH_NFCLIB_TYPEA_LAYER3, Is there any references for this card type?  Thanks. Re: TypeA Layer3 Card Detection on PN7642 Hello @wangea, Hope you are doing well. Layer 3 covers anti-collision, UID selection and card activation, while ISO 14443 layer 4 presents a set of standardized commands for data exchange. Basic Tags/Cards stop after Layer 3 and use proprietary memory-read/write commands instead of Layer 4. As you mentioned, you could try to implement the proprietary command set for your device. Please refer to NxpNfcRdlib -> types -> ph_Status.h for the Status Code definitions. Regards, Eduardo.

Edgelock RW612 Zephyr Hello, I would like to store cetificates and private key in the edge lock secure enclave of the RW612. My application is developed using zephyr and I need to be able to provision those certificates and read them at run time. Is this supported ? Could you provide documents / guides on how to do that. I am currently using upstream Zephyr 4.2.0 Thanks. Re: Edgelock RW612 Zephyr Hello @benjaminaxiles, hope you are doing well. Would you please provide more details on your expected application functionality to provision the certificates/private key? Are you expecting the provisioning to be done with an specific transport? In the meantime, I suggest referring to the examples "zephyr/samples/tfm_integration/psa_crypto" and "modules/lib/nxp_iot_agent/zephyr/samples/el2go_agent", as these implement different approaches to key storage and provisioning, in particular, the "el2go_agent" example is meant to demonstrate how to use the Edgelock 2GO service to provision keys and certificates. As a side note, I would suggest migrating to latest Zephyr downstream/upstream versions, as the support for RW612's security features has been modified since version 4.2.0. Please let me know if this information is helpful.

S32K344 MDIO MDC support >2.5 MHz? The S32K344 EMAC peripheral MAC_MDIO_Address.CR field supports CSR clock dividers down to /4, for up to a 20 MHz MDC (with 80 MHz AIPS_PLAT_CLK). Many PHYs and other MDIO devices support MDC >2.5 MHz, and this can be very helpful for reducing transaction runtimes. Experimentally, we have been able to configure the S32K344 MDIO bus for this higher speed and interface with an external PHY.  However, we noticed the S32K344 datasheet ("MDIO Timing Specifications") publishes a max supported MDC frequency of just 2.5 MHz. A faster MDC would be helpful for our application; despite the datasheet specification, does the S32K344 provide any official support for running MDC >2.5 MHz? Re: S32K344 MDIO MDC support >2.5 MHz? Thank you! Re: S32K344 MDIO MDC support >2.5 MHz? Hello @andye , The EMAC register interface may allow divider settings that would nominally generate an MDC frequency above 2.5 MHz. However, for S32K344 the officially supported maximum MDC frequency is the value published in the datasheet, i.e. 2.5 MHz. Therefore, operation above this limit cannot be considered officially supported. Even if communication appears to work at a higher MDC frequency in a specific setup, this would be outside the published specification and should be treated as application-specific experimental behavior. In practice, increasing MDC reduces the available timing margin for MDIO setup/hold and output valid timing, and it also makes the interface more sensitive to the RC time constant of the MDIO line (for example due to pull-up resistance, bus capacitance, routing, and the number of attached devices).  Best regards, Pavel

CAN MCAL Hi, I am trying to implement CAN communication using the AUTOSAR MCAL layer on the S32K144 MCU. I am able to transmit data successfully, but I am not able to receive any data. I am using the polling method (not interrupts), and currently calling the following API periodically: Can_MainFunction_Read();   Is this API sufficient for receiving CAN messages in polling mode? Do I need to use any other API along with it to receive messages properly? Could you please share an example or reference code to implement CAN reception using AUTOSAR MCAL (polling mode) on S32K144? Re: CAN MCAL Hello, I've encountered the same problem as you. Could you please share how you solved it? Re: CAN MCAL Thank you. I have figured out the solution. Re: CAN MCAL Hi, you can check within debugger if message is really received. Inspect used MB area, MB flag. Also be sure no error is detected during reception, otherwise message is not moved-in and no MB flag will be set, check ECR/ESR1 registers. BR, Petr Re: CAN MCAL When I try to debug my code, it’s not entering the Rx callback function. It gets stuck in the Can_Ipw_MainFunction_Read() function, where the Message Buffer (MB) state is not IDLE. How can I resolve this issue? Re: CAN MCAL Hi, yes, it is enough to call MainFunction_Read periodically. Upon reception you should get CanIf_RxIndication callback. Refer e.g to RTD200 demo example, which is using polling mode for both TX and RX. BR, Petr Re: CAN MCAL How to configure and use interrupt to receive CAN messages

KW45 Secure Boot with no private key Hello, is there a method for authenticating images signed by external PKI? Let me explain better my question. I would like to enable secure boot by burning fuse CUST_PROD_OEMFW_AUTH_PUK with sha-256 of public key. I have the certificate with the public key provided by the OEM but I don't have the related private key because I am not the signer. I can only sign my plain test by external portal with a dedicated PKI and obtain ECDSA signature. I was referring to the following image but, assuming that i can obtain the signature, how can I know the exact tbs? in particular the data contained in the vector table? I hope I have explained my question in a good way. Thank you, Alessandro Re: KW45 Secure Boot with no private key AN14670 EdgeLock 2GO Provisioning via SPSDK for MCUs AN14624 EdgeLock 2GO Provisioning via Secure Provisioning Tool (SEC) for MCUs AN14109 KW45 and K32W148 Secure Boot Using the SEC Tool Re: KW45 Secure Boot with no private key Hi @alereale  It is possible to configure external signature provider. It is documented here: Signature provider - Generic workflows — Secure Provisioning Tool 26.03 Short story: You need to implement custom HTTP server providing the API for signing the application, the sample implementation of the server is provided as a source code. Re: KW45 Secure Boot with no private key Hi @marek-trmac Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if that is the only solution? In this way, I need to "force" the OEM to implement such a custom HTTP server. I say that because the OEM already has a server where I can upload my binary file for signing it. In general, can you confirm that the only way to enable Secure Boot in KW45 is to go through Secure Provisioning Tool? Thank you very much. Regards, Alessandro

PN7462 I2CM configuration Hi team, I am using PN7462 controller and the following I2CM initialization and EEPROM read implementation, which works correctly in the PN7462AU_ex_phExHif demo project: phStatus_t I2C_Init(void) { phStatus_t status; uint8_t bBaudRate; bBaudRate = (uint8_t) ((PH_EXHIF_HW_CRYSTAL_CLK / 100000UL) - PH_EXHIF_HW_CRYSTAL_CLK_MHZ); status = phhalI2CM_Init( PH_EXHIF_HW_I2CM_TX_FIFO_THRES, PH_EXHIF_HW_I2CM_RX_FIFO_THRES, PH_EXHIF_HW_I2CM_TIMEOUT, PH_EXHIF_HW_I2CM_RETRY_CNT); if(status != PH_ERR_SUCCESS) { return status; } status = phhalI2CM_Config( 0x40, 0x09, E_I2CM_7BIT_ADDR_MODE); return status; } #define EEPROM_ADDR (0x50U) #define EEPROM_MFG_ADDR (0xFAU) #define EEPROM_DEV_ADDR (0xFBU) #define EEPROM_UID_ADDR (0xFCU) phStatus_t EEPROM_ReadUID(uint8_t uid[4]) { return EEPROM_Read( EEPROM_UID_ADDR, uid, 4); } static phStatus_t EEPROM_Read(uint8_t memAddr, uint8_t *pData, uint16_t length) { phStatus_t status; uint32_t txBuf[4]; uint32_t rxBuf[64] = {0}; txBuf[0] = memAddr; status = phhalI2CM_Transmit( EEPROM_ADDR, 1, txBuf); if(status != PH_ERR_SUCCESS) { return status; } status = phhalI2CM_Receive( EEPROM_ADDR, length, rxBuf); if(status != PH_ERR_SUCCESS) { return status; } memcpy(pData, (uint8_t *)rxBuf, length); return PH_ERR_SUCCESS; } int main(void) { /* Boot initialization */ phFlashBoot_Main(); /* LED init */ phLED_Init(); /* UART init */ UART_Init(); I2C_Init(); EEPROM_WriteRead_Test(); while(1) { /* Everything handled in callbacks */ } } This exact code works in the PN7462AU_ex_phExHif demo. However, when integrated into my application and also phExMain example, it causes a HardFault. is there any additional configuration required in phExMain and on my application for I2CM operation? Re: PN7462 I2CM configuration Hi @EduardoZamora  I investigated the issue further and found a difference between the HIF demo and our application. The HIF demo is running with the NULL OS implementation, whereas our application is running with FreeRTOS. After starting the I2C transaction, the driver waits for an event to be posted from the I2C ISR when the transfer completes. In our application, the I2C ISR eventually calls: phStatus_t phOsal_EventPost(phOsal_Event_t * eventHandle, phOsal_EventOpt_t options, phOsal_EventBits_t FlagsToPost, phOsal_EventBits_t *pCurrFlags) { BaseType_t HigherPriorityTaskWoken; phOsal_EventBits_t CurrentFlags; if((eventHandle == NULL) || ((*eventHandle) == NULL)) { return (PH_OSAL_ERROR | PH_COMP_OSAL); } HigherPriorityTaskWoken = pdFALSE; if (xPortIsInsideInterrupt() == pdTRUE) { CurrentFlags = xEventGroupSetBitsFromISR( *eventHandle, FlagsToPost, &HigherPriorityTaskWoken); if(CurrentFlags == pdPASS) { portYIELD_FROM_ISR(HigherPriorityTaskWoken); } } else { CurrentFlags = xEventGroupSetBits( *eventHandle, FlagsToPost); } if (pCurrFlags != NULL) { *pCurrFlags = CurrentFlags; } return PH_OSAL_SUCCESS; } While debugging, the execution flow is: I2C ISR -> phOsal_EventPost() -> xEventGroupSetBitsFromISR() -> xTimerPendFunctionCallFromISR() -> xQueueSendFromISR() Inside FreeRTOS: BaseType_t xTimerPendFunctionCallFromISR( PendedFunction_t xFunctionToPend, void * pvParameter1, uint32_t ulParameter2, BaseType_t * pxHigherPriorityTaskWoken ) { DaemonTaskMessage_t xMessage; BaseType_t xReturn = pdPASS; xMessage.xMessageID = tmrCOMMAND_EXECUTE_CALLBACK_FROM_ISR; xMessage.u.xCallbackParameters.pxCallbackFunction = xFunctionToPend; xMessage.u.xCallbackParameters.pvParameter1 = pvParameter1; xMessage.u.xCallbackParameters.ulParameter2 = ulParameter2; xReturn = xQueueSendFromISR( xTimerQueue, &xMessage, pxHigherPriorityTaskWoken ); return xReturn; } At this point, xTimerQueue is NULL. xQueueSendFromISR() checks the queue handle using: configASSERT(pxQueue); and our assert is defined as: #define configASSERT(x) \ if((x) == 0) \ { \ taskDISABLE_INTERRUPTS(); \ for(;;); \ } Since xTimerQueue is NULL, the code enters the infinite loop. When running normally, it eventually results in a HardFault. For comparison, the NULL OS implementation of phOsal_EventPost() is: phStatus_t phOsal_EventPost( phOsal_Event_t * eventHandle, phOsal_EventOpt_t options, phOsal_EventBits_t FlagsToPost, phOsal_EventBits_t *pCurrFlags) { if((eventHandle == NULL) || ((*eventHandle) == NULL)) { return PH_OSAL_ADD_COMPCODE(PH_OSAL_ERROR, PH_COMP_OSAL); } phOsal_EnterCriticalSection(); (*((uint32_t *)(*eventHandle))) |= FlagsToPost; if (pCurrFlags != NULL) { *pCurrFlags = (*((uint32_t *)(*eventHandle))); } phOsal_ExitCriticalSection(); phOsal_WakeUp(); return PH_OSAL_SUCCESS; } This implementation does not use Event Groups, Timer Service Tasks, or Timer Queues, so it works correctly in the HIF demo. Could you please advise whether additional FreeRTOS timer service initialization is required before using the I2C/HIF drivers, or if there is a recommended FreeRTOS configuration for this use case? Thanks. Re: PN7462 I2CM configuration Hello @uday_gowda Could you please confirm what is the instruction that triggers the HardFault? Please consider that some demo projects, such as phExMain, may use a large amount of memory, and adding functionality may exceed the available space. I will recommend you scaling down the project to the minimal functionality required by your application. Regards, Eduardo.

FRDM-RT1186:The flash loader program reported an error. The debug log may contain more details Every time I modify the code and click download for the first time, it throws an error (a popup prompts "The flash loader program reported an error", and the debug log shows "Processor did not stop on hardware reset"). However, if I do nothing after the error and simply click download again, it successfully flashes the code and enters normal debugging. Could anyone explain what causes this? How should I configure IAR or the debugger settings to avoid this issue? Thanks! i.MXRT Windows Re: FRDM-RT1186:The flash loader program reported an error. The debug log may contain more details Dear guogai, When I changed the configuration to flexspi_nor_debug, I was able to reproduce the issue you reported. I am currently investigating the root cause and working on a solution. I will keep you updated on the progress. Re: FRDM-RT1186:The flash loader program reported an error. The debug log may contain more details Dear Shelly, Thanks for your reply. Regarding your suggestion to switch to FlashIMXRT1186-FRDM_FlexSPI_M33.board, I have two questions: Missing File: My IAR version is relatively old, so I do not have the FlashIMXRT1186-FRDM_FlexSPI_M33.board file in my current environment. Could you please kindly provide this single .board file for me? Hardware Mismatch: The target flash memory on my board is physically connected to the FlexSPI2 interface. If I switch the loader to FlexSPI (which usually targets SPI1), will it still be able to flash and program successfully? Thank you for your support! Re: FRDM-RT1186:The flash loader program reported an error. The debug log may contain more details Dear guogai, The current latest version is SDK_26_03_00_FRDM-IMXRT1186, please use the latest SDK. In addition, please check whether the flash loader is  $TOOLKIT_DIR$/config/flashloader/NXP/FlashIMXRT1186-FRDM_FlexSPI_M33.board .  If not, please modify it to this file.  Re: FRDM-RT1186:The flash loader program reported an error. The debug log may contain more details Hi @guogai  The hardware version currently I am using is SCH-95302 Rev A3, and the IAR version is 9.70.4.This setup has already been tested on my side, and there are no issues.

Re: SPI driver not working as expected on powerpc hardware platform (with yocto build system)

Re: Windows ARM64 support request (LinkServer/MCUXpresso) 你好! 此版本适用于 macOS x64/arm64 和 linux/windows x64,但不适用于 arm64。

Re: several questions about S32K3 EMIOS 你好@Jason22 1. BR、VaneB Re: several questions about S32K3 EMIOS

LS1046A FEC support Hello, I'm interested is it FEC (Firecode FEC used in 10GBASE-KR) supported on LS1046A platform and how to enable it? I saw that in Linux kernel 6.12.49 there is 10GBASE-KR support, but only for Auto Negotiation and Link Training. Also I wanted to use USDPAA device tree to be able to use DPDK + VPP, so are there some blockers to make FEC work in that setup? Is it possible also to avoid running Auto negotiation and Link training and to run FEC only? Thanks in advance, Nenad Re: LS1046A FEC support Auto-negotiation is a necessary step in the current driver flow. If auto-negotiation fails, the process will not proceed further. So  the current backplane driver does not support FEC, and auto-negotiation is an integral part of the workflow. If you want to remove auto-negotiation, you will need to modify the driver by yourselves, and we do not recommend doing so. If link training itself has issues, there is no point in proceeding with other configurations. To enable FEC, an additional PMD register needs to be programmed. Re: LS1046A FEC support FEC is not supported in current backplane driver. Auto-negitation is necessary step in the backplane driver, I suggest customer modify backplane driver to set XFI_10GR_FEC_CTL[FEC_ENAB] to enable FEC Re: LS1046A FEC support I successfully enabled FEC and I am not using AN/LT (its disabled). I am basically including "-kr.dtsi" files for mac9 and mac10 to be able to access registers to write FEC_ENAB. When I say throughput in the next lines for example 4gbps I mean on 2x 4gbps is generated from network tester to board. BERT test is running (L2 traffic test termination). And when I start VPP so that mac9 and mac10 are bridged I see that errors are smaller, on one port there is 0 errors and on other port there is no errors when throughput is smaller (<4gbps) and when there is throughput >4gbps errors are around BER ratio 2E-08 and smaller (E-09). But those measurements are when the system is idle (not using console at all). But when I do something, for example start top program, press Enter multiple times, errors are increasing (BER ratio E-07, E-06). So I made a script that is doing memcpy fast (to put pressure on ddr) and I saw that I got a lot of bit errors (BER ratio is going up to E-04 for throughputs bigger than 7gbps) on MTS5800 network tester. My setup is like this: DPDK + VPP (main core 1, workers 2 and 3), isolcpus=1-3, nohz_full=1-3, rcu_nocbs=1-3, iommu_passthrough=1, hugepagessz=2m, number of hugepages 512. Is there maybe DDR bandwidth bottleneck in higher network throughputs?
