We have worked with the board MIMXRT1170-EVB for a while now and we have a new custom board with the MIMXRT1172DVMAA on it.
We are about to start a bring-up on our new board and we want to port the work we did on the MIMXRT1170 to the custom board.
I have looked into the board porting
guide in the zephyr documentation and started working with it, but I have some questions regarding the process.
I do not find the MIMXRT1172DVMAA soc in the zephyr supported soc's list and I'm a bit worried that porting from the MIMXRT1170 to our custom board will require a lot of work and will be time consuming.
As I understand, the MIMXRT1170 is a family of soc's which include the MIMXRT1172DVMAA. But I am confused regarding this, The MIMXRT1170-evk comes with MIMXRT1176DVMAA processor, Can I rely on the MIMXRT1170 .dts and config files to support the MIMXRT1172DVMAA?
If not, what are the main obsticals we will have to overcome?
And in general, Is the support for NXP on zephyr is strong, or it still didn't arrive to mature state?
