MCUXpresso Software and Tools – New Releases Available
New updates to the MCUXpresso suite of software and tools are now available. These updates include support for NXP’s general purpose, crossover and Bluetooth®-enabled Arm® Cortex®-M-based MCUs. A detailed list of these updates are listed below.
MCUXpresso SDK v2.9.0
- Integration of latest Enabling Software Technology releases, including lwIP, FatFS, LittleFS, LVGL, Crank’s Storyboard and TARA Systems’ Embedded Wizard
- New Essential Audio Processing (EAP) tuning tool and support added for i.MX RT1060 MCUs
- Voice Intelligent Technology (VIT) for wake word and local command recognition introduced for i.MX RT600 and i.MX RT1060 MCUs
- EmSA microCANopen FD support added for i.MX RT1060 MCUs
- Updated GCC Build files to modular CMake (requires CMake v3.1.1 or later)
- eIQ™ inference with TensorFlow™ Lite for Microcontrollers added for i.MX RT1060 crossover MCUs

MCUXpresso IDE v11.3
- Updated power and new energy measurement views (for supported LPCXpresso boards)
- GNU Arm Embedded Toolchain updated to version 9-2020-q2-update
- Oracle JRE replaced with Eclipse OpenJ9

MCUXpresso Config Tools v9.0
- Support for development board expansion headers, including support for third-party accessory boards
- New register level initialization for SCTimer peripheral
- Enhancement to Trusted Execution Environment setting to support xRDC (Extended Resource Domain Controller) on supported devices
- CMSIS Driver component configuration (I2C, SPI, UART)
- General improvements and migration to newer eclipse framework
Also new with this update, NXP has extended its complementary enablement for embedded graphics applications with GUI Guider – a user-friendly graphical user interface development tool that enables the rapid design of high quality displays with LVGL. GUI Guider is available now and includes support for NXP’s general purpose and crossover Arm® Cortex®-M-based MCUs.
