What is an IoT Gateway? An IoT Gateway is essential part of a Trust enabled, power-efficient IoT deployment in buildings, homes, street and industrial sites. The low-power foot-print is achieved by having low-power, low-cost sensor nodes connecting over low-power, shorter range radio networks. The IoT Gateway bridges between these wireless sensor networks and the enterprise or carrier networks. Furthermore, the IoT gateway also provides a platform for local data filtering and decision making. This is context aware computing. In near future, the cost of processing data will be less than the cost of moving data across a network and less than the cost of data storage. It makes sense to distribute the intelligence and process/filer data close to the data source. In this session, one of the first public demo’s of LS1021A, NXP will demonstrate an ready-to-use IoT gateway platform together with sensor and cloud connectivity.
