Greetings,

I am new to NXP platform and trying to flash  LED blink example on MPC5748G-DEVKIT. I followed following steps. I see this error.

Error in services launch sequence
PEmicro GDB Launch Failure : The GDB Server was not able to establish a connection to the target processor. Please check your connections and power. Verify that the launch settings in the Debug Configuration are accurate.

Debugging settings look like:

Kindly help me to resolve this issue. Also if anyone can provide any debugging steps to make sure the board I purchased is in good shape would be a great help.

Thanks and regards,

@lukaszadrapa  Thank you for sharing this with me. I will try to update the firmware on my board. How to make sure that the OpenSDA has updated firmware v1.10 after these steps?

Thanks and regards,

Hi,

take a look at this thread:

https://community.nxp.com/t5/S32-Design-Studio/Unable-to-start-debug-session-on-MPC5748G-board-downl...

There's a post from Jiri Kral (02-07-2019 05:09 AM) where it is described how to get firmware version.

Lukas

Hi Himateja,

I would try to update the OpenSDA firmware. The procedure is described here:

https://community.nxp.com/t5/S32-Design-Studio-Knowledge-Base/HOWTO-Update-OpenSDA-Firmware-on-EVB/t...

Latest version is 1.10.

Please let me know if it doesn't help.

Regards,

Lukas

Hi Himateja,

I got recommendation from Jiri to try erase from PROGPPCNEXUS tool. You can take a look at this:

https://community.nxp.com/t5/S32-Design-Studio/MPC5777C-update-DCF-record/m-p/791557

See post marked as solution. It shows where to download the tool, how to connect. Then select the right PCP file for normal flash (not UTEST) and try to erase the flash. (do not follow the programming of UTEST, that's something different).

Regards,

Lukas
