Hello Jimmy,

If you want check the global variable , please use the "Expression" view:

Window -> show view -> Expressions

This is a known bug in Eclipse (Bug 219040 – [variables][cdi] Variables view should show globals (or should it?) )

The workaround is to add the global variable to the Expressions view.
