The iMX53 reference manual mentions several times that RTS is an input, and CTS is an output.  However, Table 76-1 on page 4627 shows RTS and CTS changing to input or output based on the DCEDTE bit.  Could someone explain?

Please use table 86 in section 4.7.17.1 (UART RS-232 I/O Configuration in Different Modes)
of the Datasheet (IMX53IEC, Rev. 5, 12/2012).
The datasheet relates to the UART + additional signal multiplexing between the UART
peripheral and the IC pad, while the Reference Manual describes only the peripheral boundary

(internal signals).
