T1040 what are the tradeoffs for selecting "single oscillator source" vs "multiple reference clock mode"

Are there any gotchas associated with the single oscillator source mode described in the T1040RM Section 4.6.7.1.1?  This looks like a good strategy if I only require one oscillator.

It is required to check that projected high speed interfaces configuration could be implemented using single oscillator source referring the QorIQ T1040 Reference Manual, Table 31-3. Valid SerDes Reference Clocks and RCW Encodings (SGMII-2.5G (3.125 Gbps)).
