Does the MPX5700 transfer function work for absolute and differential configurations?

Question regarding the MPX5700 data sheet and how to use a MPX5700A sensor.

The MPX5700 data sheet shows a single transfer function , Vout = Vs*(0.0012858*P + 0.04) +/- error.

The formula checks out for the range of 0-700kpa for the gauge and differential sensors.  0.2VDC @ 0kPa and 4.7VDC @ 700kPa, which matches the values stated in the characteristics table.

However, for the absolute sensor, I'm not quite clear.  The characteristics table states a range of 15-700kPa.  Does the Vout trnasfer function apply to the absolute sensor, or is there a mistake on the data sheet.

For reference, other MPX sensors show a different transfer functions for the absolute vs gauge/differential configurations in their respective data sheets.  Couple of examples:

     MPX5100A:  Vs*(0.009*P + 0.04) +/- error; kPa range 15 - 115

     MPX5100D: Vs*(0.009*P - 0.095) +/- error; kPa range 0 - 100

     MPX4250A:  Vs*(0.004*P - 0.04) +/- error, kPa range 20 - 250

     MPX4250D:  Vs*(0.00369 + 0.04) +/- error, kPa range 0 - 250

So back to my question :smileyhappy:.  Is the MPX5700A supposed to have a different transfer function to deal with the reduced range.  Or is the transfer function listed applicable to both the differential and the absolute sensors.  In the case of the latter, 15kPa would result in 0.296 Vout regardless of reference pressure, absolute, gauge, diff.

Thanks

Chip

Hi Chip,

Sorry for our late reply, the transfer function for MPX5700 is correct and the same for both absolute and diff/gauge for their respective pressure ranges.

Regards,

Tomas
