In my board, based on the MCIMX6X2AVN08AB microprocessor, I use the PMIC MMPF0200F6AEP as a power supply. The output SW2 of the MMPF0200F6AEP chip is used not only to power the microprocessor MCIMX6X2AVN08AB itself but also to power the FPGA Spartan6 type. The FPGA Spartan6 requires using of large decoupling capacitors. Tell me please, what is the maximum permissible value of the capacitive load on the SW2 output (and others) of the MMPF0200F6AEP chip?

Hi,
MAX capacitance for the SW2 output is not characterized, but I recommend you to use the 3 x 22 uF capacitors as recommended in the datasheet on Table 62.
We have seen that customer that add extra capacitance on the buck regulators, typically increase the desired voltage level on the line.
I’m worried about the current capabilities of the SW2 to supply both systems (IMX6 and FPGA), SW2 can give up to 2.5A (with a supply between 1.2V and 3.3V).
Have a great day,
Jose
