Hello everyone,

I'm working on at MPC5746C. I have a MPC5748 Eval.Board.

Is there any gerber files for MPC5748 eval board ? I'm wondering PCB details for Eval.Board.

Best regards,

Hello,

I'm facing the same problem because I'll develop a board that will be like a shield for DEVKIT-MPC5748.

Then I need the layout file of the devkit in a format that altium opens. Altium just opens allegro format if allegro is installed on the pc but allegro isn't free.

Altium can open different types of files according image below:

Is it possible to send the layout file in a different format than allegro?

The main information I need is the distances between the center of holes that are indicated in the figure below.

This distances need to be very precise because as I'll do a shield for this board if the connectors doesn't match I won't be able to connect the boards.

Thanks in advance,

Best Regards

Hello joãopaulo‌,

In this community space, we try to answer questions related to Model Based-Design Toolbox. For the previous one, it happened to know the location of the DEVKIT-MPC5748G - Design Files so I just provided that. Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to perform the operation you requested.

As far as I understand, you only need the pins header locations for your shield.

One of my suggestions would be to try to open the Gerber files and get the information required from there.

Another important piece of information I can give you is that, according to the QSG here https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/quick-reference-guide/DEVKIT-MPC5748G-QSG.pdf , the board is Arduino UNO R3 footprint-compatible so, being an open-source project you can get more easily the locations you need for the Arduino shields. You only have to use 2x headers but there are the universal 2.54.

If this is not helping you, please open a new NXP support case according to the following procedure: https://community.nxp.com/docs/DOC-329745

Hope this helps,

Marius

Hello,

Following alican özpay question, I am also looking for DEVKIT-MPC5748G mechanical design or dimensions details, which do not appear in the electrical schematics & layout files in your link. Where can I get this information from?

Hello lior.baz@nng.com‌,

Unfortunately I am software guy so, I think the only public information you can get is stored in one of those archives. The mechanical information can be retrieved from the gerber files. Also, inside one of the archive I've found a pdf containing the following screenshot:

Hope this helps,

Hello alicanozpay@outlook.com‌,

Unfortunately I cannot help you more because this is the Model-Based Design Toolbox Community where we try to answer questions related with Matlab and Simulink so more software here than hardware.  I think the link provided contains some Allegro project design and I think you can try using the Allegro importer in Altium https://www.altium.com/documentation/18.0/display/ADES/((Allegro+Import))_AD#!AllegroImport-AllegroB.... Also you might be able to open in Altium the gerber file (obviously this is not helping much when you design a PCB but you don't start from scratch.)

If you need to create the MCU footprint (and I am sure you do) you can find more information in the reference manual for the MPC5748G https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/MPC5748G.pdf under the Dimensions chapter. Also for the 178 LQFP mcu the document is here https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/package-information/98ASA00673D.pdf.

Hope this helps,

Marius

Hello alicanozpay@outlook.com‌,

You can find here the schematic https://www.nxp.com/downloads/en/schematics/DEVKIT-MPC5748G-SCH.pdf

and here the PCB BOM and Design Files https://www.nxp.com/downloads/en/printed-circuit-boards/DEVKIT-MPC5748G.zip .

Hope this helps,
