Ethernet link status

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to use the function "ipcfg_get_link_active" to figure out if an ethernet cable is connected or not, but it seems don't work as expected. The return is always true, even when the cable is unconnected. Is there any configuration that I can change or set for test and find the problem?


Ps: I'm new on MQX, and my board uses a DP83640 Transceiver.

 Ethttool error:

       Cannot get settingsperation not permitted.

This error is what I get when trying to get output of ethtool command with
different options in the freescale board MCF5485 with linux-2.6.29.What
could be the possible reason.

Resolved, was a hardware problem. Thanks for the help!
