Kinetis Design Studio 3.0.0 hangs on OSX

I've just started to transition to KDS from Codewarrior (my development cycles are intermittent). I have successfully installed and run KDS and created a new Kinetis project based around the FRDM-KL26Z. In Processor Expert view, when I uncheck "init" for any of the subsystems (for example ADC) the program hangs, giving me the spinning beachball of death.

I have attached the cpu_resource.diag report that this produced to this question too. This works fine in Windows, but I really would rather not have to run a VM just for this.

Hi Stefan,

I've a MAC with KDS + KSDK and PEx.

I0ve reproduced the problem on my side too.

As soon as I click on a Pin, the multicolor circle appears and ... loop forever.

Tool is not responding anymore.

Is it same issue ?

Hi Pascal

Yes, this is the same issue. Carlos, I have attached an image of where the error occurs with the checkbox that causes the hang circled in red.

Hi Stefan,

I've the same problem on my side.

I'm trying to install all patches but got errors to install PEx and KSDK patches.

I will check if there is another way to get them just to be sure if the problem is not already solved.

Hi Stefan,

Could you tell us which OSX version are you using? Please notice that the host operating systems supported by KDS are:

• Windows® 7/8 (32-bit binaries running on 32 and 64-bit OS).

• Linux® (Ubuntu 14.04 (deb), RedHat/Centos 7 (rpm)) (64 bit binaries).

• Mac OS X ("Yosemite") with Segger support.

Hi Carlos

OS X version is Yosemite 10.10.5. All other aspects of KDS work, it's just I can't use Processor Expert because of this - but I am actually getting good results without, so it's not a huge issue for me, but might be for others.
