When I try to do a full chip simulation of an 'RS08 using CW5.1, the simulator reports
that memory locations $221 (PTAPUD) and $222 (PTASE) -- as seen through the paging window -- are not implemented.  (Location $220 (PTAPE) _is_, however.)

Certainly, the _simulator_ doesn't care about and of these three locations.  I _do_ though, since my code needs to initialize these locations if I want pull ups and the alleged slew rate protections.

So my question is:  is this just a problem on my CW installation, or is it part of some clever plan by the simulator makers?

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Curt

The support people were unable to duplicate my problem (although I suspect that they did not try very hard).

On a hunch though, I downloaded a CW service pack CW08_V5_KA1_SP.exe from the Freescale website and installed it.   This made my problem go away.

I think there must be bugs in my installation CD, which is 770-20997 REV B or
CWX-H08-SE REV. G depending on whether you use the number on the CD or the number on the box...:smileysad:

Anyway...  pass it along in case others may have similar difficulties.

Hi Curt,

You could also try taking it up with P&E Micro directly on their forum at www.pemicro.com

Thanks.  I submitted a support request.
I'm starting to feel a little like a beta tester here:smileytongue:  Great fun though...
Can't believe I'm the first to run into this issue.  It's probably discussed at length somewhere in the docs (which are quite good ATC).
