Is it possible to have two versions of CodeWarrior installed on a PC?

I currently have 10.5 and 10.6.4 installed. I want to be able to support a project we developed on CodeWarrior 10.5 and MQX 4.0.2, but I also want to develop a new product with CodeWarrior 10.6.4 and MQX 4.1, however, only 10.6.4 with MQX 4.1 is working, the other 10.5 and 4.0.2 will no longer build the project that previously built fine before I installed the new tools.

Hi Erich, I cannot find the Offline Evaluation v10.6.4, I just found the Online Special v10.6.4, do you know where can I get it? Thanks!

Hi Carlos,

both are in the same place as shown in the screenshot above. It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot.

Erich

Hi Kyle,

you can have multiple version of CodeWarrior installed side-by-side. However, if you are using a shared MQX installation, this could lead to problems if you try to open the project files with different versions. So keep the MQX installation separate for each CW installation.

Going to the provided link and then to "Download" tab, and clicking "Downloads" gets me to sign in, when doing it I get this screen:

CW0.png

There's no Windows version listed in Current, then I click Previous and find one:

CW1.png

Then, I click it to list all the available downloads:

CW2.png

And there's any v10.6.4 available to download, I wonder if it depends on login credentials.

Thanks for your attention!

Hi,

Checked on my side and the 10.6.4 is listed.

You can access this page by the link:

Then click on Downlad Eval

If you click on V10.6.4 you will jump to:

Have a great day,

I had to create another account so the new credentials allowed me to see the file, very weird that with this account I don't have access to it. I've checked it again with this account after downloading CW v10.6.4 and the new Update 6 with the other one and still I can't see it with this one. Thanks Erich and Pascal for your support!

what to do in case of using code warrior for devices that are not supported?

for example S12ZVML32 is not in the supported devices list.

what to do in such a situation?

Arun,

For this type of question I recommend you to create a new post for that.

Pascal

Hello Eric,

I just recently downloaded the 10.6.4 Code Warrior and I downloaded thezip files for  updates 5 & 6 for the system.

I installed 10.6.4 just fine.

I then went through the Install new Software and installed the Update5.zip file.  Seemed to go just fine.

Then when I tried to install from the  Update6.zip it gave me an error that I didn't have the appropriate MQX 4.1 plug in installed. So it wouldn't do anything.   Nothing I did could resolve this problem.. So I've currently uninstalled 10.6.4 so I could start again.

My question is.. After installing the 10.6.4 -- What exactly should be done next..

Should you install the Update 5.. Or just jump right to Update 6.

And then.. what do you do with all the other stuff that the FSL site says is still available for updating?  Do you install it all?

Do you ignore it all?

FYI: I'm currently installing only the components for  Kinetis. as that is the processor family that  I will be using and I don't need anything else.

I am re-using code that was created in the Codewarrior 10.6/ MQX system which is why I can't switch to KDS at this time.  Especially since the new SDK V2.x has removed MQX support.

Thanks in advance for any and all help..!!!

If you do not need the additional devices added/supported in Update 5 and Update 6, there is no real need to go to the update 5 or 6 (see the release notes, attached). Otherwise: the update 6 includes the update 5, so you can go straight to update 6 if you need it.

Erich

Erich,

A few questions..

     1) Are there release notes for update 6.    (I couldn't find any? )

     2) Are updates always inclusive of the previous updates?

     3) Since I only installed the Kinetis Component.. When installing Updates do I need to be sure to uncheck any updates that pertain to components that I have not installed.   If so.. What is the Debugger NLS.. is that a common update.. or something specific?

The following is the list of updates in the 10.6.4 Update 6 archive files.
