I would recommend you to download our latest CW version which is CodeWarrior for MCUs v10.6, this version comes with a number of major enhancements:

Regarding the code examples, we don't have one for a 7 segment decoder but on the below link you can find a training for the new Freescale technology users, it explains the different modules of the KL25Z MCU and provides sample code projects for each of the modules:
