A couple of comments based on local experience

if you run the CWTAP inside the FSL net, it is more convenient to leave it on DHCP. After a few minutes the FSL DNS will pick it up as "fsl<last3bytesmac>", e.g., "fsl023ab3" if the TAPs MAC address ends with 02:3a:b3 per the sticker on the back. This avoids a whole lot of painful IP reconfigurations
I believe it is unwise to use the "-force" option when updating the tap's firmware and there must be very good justification to even think about it. The command is smart enough to do the right thing and hasn't failed on me yet.
