I have a chip printed as "MC9SJB16FA-1L98J" ,What is the difference between "MC68HC908JB16DW"

"MC68HC908JB16DW"  is used to make a BDM for HCS12 series which was provided in the forums

I want to buy this chip ,but the seller give me a chip  printed as "MC9SJB16FA-1L98J"

they are the same?
Can  MC9SJB16FA  be debug with HC08BDM?  Thanks@@@

Thank you for reply me.
Why it must be SIOC package to make a TMBDL?
And what is MON08 ? Do you have any datasheet of it?

Hi,

It does not HAVE to be SOIC. Just all the boards I have seen use the SOIC version. Nothing to stop you using the others. The chip inside is exactly the same.
MON08 is the programming/debug interface for the older HC08 series devices, it is replaced with the BDM on the newer S08 devices. Refer to the JB datasheet for the description of the MON08 interface.

Hi commandoccz,

The number seems strange although I don't know what else it would be. Normally it is marked MC908JB16DWE.
If you want it for TBDML the package is wrong though, this part appears to be a 32 LQFP not a SOIC as used in the design.

You use a MON08 interface adapter to talkto/debug HC08's like this. The BDM is for S08's.
However here you are using a HC08 to build a BDM for S08's.
