Trouble debugging with JTAG when using the WFI instrction on I.MX RT1170

When using the RT1170, use the WFI instruction and set the CPU mode to RUN through the GPC module. When I debug with JTAG, the GDB Server prompts the CPU could not be halted after the break point at full speed. In the GPC module there is this passage: The core clock can also be gated by a WFI event without ang GPC sequence. The GPC using a signal to clear this gate when a wakeup trigger occurs. I don't know if this reason leads to the disconnection between JTAG and kernel. Secondly, how to meet the conditions of WFI instruction and RUN mode setting and non-gated kernel clock?

Hi @chenyun ,

Do you try to run the SDK simple project, whether that method, the JTAG works or not?

 Eg, the led_blinky project.

BTW, when you meet the JTAG issues, whether you meet the download issues again?

If yes, you need to do the external flash mass erase at first.

Best Regards,

Kerry
