iMX8 boot kernel from micro-sd having SDIO WP enabled

The boot from micro-sd having SDIO WP signal enabled hangs with error -30 "/dev/root: Can't open blockdev "

Why it is not possible to mount the root device with the write protection?

is there a work around? like enabling the "wp-gpios" after the boot?

Hello,

The kernel is protected so, the SD WP need to be non-write enable to work with it.
