i.MX8M mini platform delay in RTSP streaming

Hi Team,

I am using i.MX8M Mini platform (MIMX8MM4CVTKZAA) with my custom camera board.

I see a delay of around 1.5 seconds between the instance I fire capture command and get streaming over display.

We are trying to reduce this delay for which we need your help. Please let us know if this use-case of RTSP steaming is tested on 8M Mini dual core platform (MIMX8MM4CVTKZAA) or not. If yes, let me know what is the platform delay between "Capture IN to Encoder OUT" for this chip.

This will help me to put my efforts in right direction to reduce overall delay.

Could you tell me more details?

Which version of BSP are you using?

Have you try to add some code or 'printf' to find out where is the delay?

How do you test the issue? Could you tell me the steps so I can try to reproduce the issue on our EVK?

Hi,

Our BSP release is Yocto L5.4.24-2.1.0.

To test the latency we have not kept any printf functions, but we start the clock in a computer and keep camera towards that clock. In this setup during live stream we take a screenshot and measure the latency. Please see attached screenshot.

So, please check where it spending the longer time. please try to find out where is the delay.
