about the /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern file

in my rootfs the /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern is not exsit,how to generate core dump file.

my kernel is 3.10.17

Have you checked that CONFIG_COREDUMP is enabled in the kernel?
