What´s needed for making Android Applications on i.MX53?

This is my first time developing applications for a quick start board and I am wondering what is different from "ordinary" applications development.

I have a i.MX53 board with a 5" touchscreen attached to it. The OS installed is Android.

Do you know if I can develop applications to the quick start board in the same way I do for Android Cellphones (Mac OS, Eclipse, debugging through device) or if I need some special software/drivers/OS on my development computer to make it happen?

if you want to create a "simple" application, like a to-do list manager, for example, you will need nothing special.

if you want to create some kind of GPS rellated app, you will need to control GPS driver/server

But, in fact, you will develop an android application for imx53qsb as any "ordinary" application for Android Cellphones.
