We have the following problem with displaying video:
The display format is (for example) 1920x1080p60 and we want to display 1080p30 video. As we understand, the IPU should display the first frame twice, the second frame also twice, and so on. What we observe: the first frame is displayed once, but the folowing frame is then displayed 3 times. It is still 60 frames per second, but the video is not smooth any more (we observe it especially when the camera is moving).
Have you seen a similar problem? What we are missing? We know that this is related to the system load.
We use linux-imx6-boundary-imx_4.9.x_1.0.0_ga and gst1-imx-0.13.0 on i.MX6QuadPlus.
