Dear team,

I would like to ask about PCB design for i.MX6DQ.

(1)

My customer wants to use 1005 decoupling capacitors instead of 0603 or 0201 capacitors which is written in your Hardware Design Guide of i.MX6.

Are there any problems on the use of 1005 decoupling capacitors?

(2)

In the hardware design guide(IMX6DQ6SDLHDG), 8 mils(about 0.2mm) drill is recommended. But the customer wants to use 0.15mm drill.

Are there any problems on the use of 0.15mm drill instead of 8 mils drill?

Thanks,

Miyamoto

Hello Miyamoto,

(1) 1005 is also 0402, so the package is OK. you can use one capcitor for every 2 PADs if space is not enough.

(2)0.15mm drill is also OK.

you should pay much more attention to power net, if current is bigger, more than one drills should be used.

Regards,

Weidong
