How to tell the difference between imx6Q and imx6Q-pop

Hello, all:

For now, we have two different type of CPU:

imx6Q and imx6Q-pop

Are there any method to tell the difference between this two CPUs ? (Read fuse register or CPU ID?)

Because we would like to tell the difference in SPL, then give different DDR settings.

Thank You !

BR,

Richard

Hi Richard,

The i.mx6Q and i.mx6Q-pop is compatible on hardware. But they have difference cache and RAM, so the software and BSP are different. Of cause the price is also not the same, the i.mx6Q-pop is more expensive than the i.mx6Q. I am searching for the details difference document on them, I will sent it to you when I get it.
Have a great day,
Dan

Hi Richard,

I have got the reply update from our expert team.

The CPU speed is 800MHz in MX6Q-POP and CPU speed is 1GHz in MX6Q (consumer).

Maybe you can check the "SPEED_GRADING" in fuse to identify the chip.

Or use external pull-up/pull-down in GPIO pins to identify the PCB.

Hope this can help you.

Have a nice day

Dan

Hi Richard,

I have escalated it to our expert team and I am wait for them reply to me. From the datasheet http://cache.nxp.com/files/32bit/doc/data_sheet/IMX6DQCPOPEC.pdf?fpsp=1&WT_TYPE=Data%20Sheets&WT_VEN...  only see the part num is different. As I do not use or familiar with the imx6Q-pop, and do not search the details document about it, so sorry for late reply.

Have a nice day

Dan
