Plymouth implementation Issue

Hi,

I have added Plymouth recipe in yocto build (BSP used is b2qt - zeus version) for i.MX 8M, to get an animated splash screen.

Plymouth recipe is added into Yocto by referring following link:

Plymouth recipe is taken from this OpenEmebedded layer.

http://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/recipe/39966/

Link refered for working with Plymouth:

https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Plymouth/

https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/dracut/dracut.html#_dracut_8

But Plymouth theme is not getting updated even though in Kernel bootup log displays Plymouth service started to show the theme. (added journalctl boot log for your reference)

I doubt that DRM/KMS node selection might be the issue. Please help me in resolving this issue.

Any alternative solution for achieving the animated splash screen is highly appreciated.

Note:

  • I am using MIPI display as a primary display, expecting Plymouth theme to be displayed there.
  • Please don't forward Plymouth link as an reply, I have implemented with reference to the link that NXP(gusarambula) shared in previous query. Please refer journalctl log and provide your solution.

Regards,

Ashok

Hello ashoknoone@gmail.com,

From the log that you attached, I can see that you are working with the Nitrogen 8M SOM, which is beyond of our scope of support. Perhaps, Boundary Devices would be more able to assist you with this issue (if their BSP supports the animated splash screen with Plymouth).

My apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,

Ruben
