Missing iMX 8M Mini support for Media controller API

Hi,

I am using iMX 8M Mini with several MIPI CSI sensors (OV, IMX). The Linux kernel is based on codeaurora imx_4.19.35_1.1.0 (v4.19.35-5188-g8507afc3a397).

It's very important to have the media controller API available and use media-ctl however iMX 8M Mini is not supported. Other flavors are (fsl,imx8mn, fsl,imx8qxp, fsl,imx8qxp) but the "mm" is not.

Since it is a basic feature of MIPI CSI of SoC, it's crucial to have it available.

When could we expect adding missing media controller API support for i.MX 8 M Mini? Or maybe there is some workaround for this?

VPI APIs are described in nxp official linux documentation, for example

 i.MX VPU API Reference Manual

Also one can look Chapter 6 Video i.MX Linux Reference Manual

Supported functionalities are described in i.MX Linux Release Notes

I am afraid  media-ctl is not supported by nxp.
