Hi All,

I have ported the internet browser and connecting to internet via wifi. I am facing a problem where in I am not able to resolve the name of any website.

Say, If I type google.com it will not work, but if type IP address of the google.com (http://173.194.66.94) it works.

In /etc/resolv.conf, I have even added the nameserver. Even I tried by adding some global ip address like 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4. But still no luck.

Please can anyone help in resolving this issue.

Regards,

Swamy

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I see that hosts:dns file is present inside the /etc/nsswitch.conf

Also, my /etc/hosts looks like

nameserver 192.168.43.0

Am i missing something else in the file?

Regards,

Swamy

Hi Swamy,

verify that you can access to the DNS

$ grep "hosts" /etc/nsswitch.conf

for example

hosts:    files dns
