IMX8MP - Use ISP auto exposure algorithm on external frames

Hi,

I'm wondering if it is possible to use the auto exposure algorithm of the IMX8MP (the Vivante ISP8000) on video frames not sent from CSI MIPI interface? Specifically I would like to use the auto exposure algorithm if the ISP8000 on frames from an external camera.

The Verisilicon website states that the ISP supports "DMA Read Path to Feed Pipeline with Data from Memory" - https://www.verisilicon.com/en/IPPortfolio/VivanteISP8000

This post refers to the VSI SDK, perhaps this is what I need? I can't seem to find it though.
