For the IMX8QXP board, we are trying to build gstreamer-imx for which we are following the steps from the " https://github.com/Freescale/gstreamer-imx" but we are facing some issues with the libimxdmabuffer build. Can you tell us what are the packages needed to install gstreamer-imx build successfully and the Ubuntu version required for the same.

yes you can upgrade the gstreamer on the current bsp, but I don't know if you have any issue when you use old bsp with higher version gstreamer plugins, I didn't do such test, this is upgrade document, this document is very old, but you can refer to this for any idea how to upgrade
We can able to build the default Gstreamer build. We need to add some more GStreamer plugins like H264 Encoder. How can we modify the existing default GStreamer source as part of yocto build?
No. Default G-Streamer includes only v4l2h264 encoder. It is not working as expected (ie) It doesn't save the video in MP4 format. Hence, we need to include the H264 encoder component in the yocto source.
Also is it possible to upgrade the Gstreamer to the 1.20 version from 1.18 by changing the git branch source to MM_04.07.00_2205_L5.15.y? As I told you, we were using the L5.10 yocto build. If I change the GStreamer git branch, will it work in L5.10 yocto?
