I'm thinking of displaying on EPD by connecting IMXEBOOKDC 4 to the development board MCIMX 6 DL - SDP.
OS: Android 7.1.1
Linux Kernel: 4.1.15
In this configuration, if setenv epdc video = mxcepdcfb: E060 SCM, bpp = 16
Is EPD display possible?

if you use mx6dl sdp board, it couldn't support DC4 directly, if you changed the hardware, yes mx6dl can support this, I don't know what staus of  yours, did you change anything about his?

I got information as below:

"

DC4 was not specifically designed to work with the i.MX6DL SABRE SDP board.

I see what is wrong from the schematics. The DC4 board is cross-connecting 5V_IN with SYS_4V2 through SH22 on the SABRE board. In order to make DC4 work on the SABRE board, you need to cut the SH22 trace.

So, I suspect on your two boards that are not working, you have either fried the PF0100 part, or the two MAX8903C battery charging chips (U502, U503).

You can tell which part or parts are bad by plugging the wall socket into the SABRE board without DC4 and measuring the voltage on SH22. If it is 4.2V, then PF0100 is bad. If it measures 5V, then the charging chips are bad.

"

I thought you have already tested the hardware on DC4 successfully, just want to know uboot settings, if you don't, pls check it.

As in the released 3.10.17 images, a kernel with the EPDC driver should not need boot parameter changes with an ebook adapter to function correctly, but they should be added to match the display used.

Running the unit test mxc_epdc_fb_test is the easiest way to test this, as it will find the epdc framebuffer device automatically.

The specific parameter explanations are in the Linux Reference Manual, but for reference:

video=mxcepdcfb:[panel_name]

max17135:pass=2,vcom=[vcom_uV]

Thank you for your reply.

MCIMX6DL-SDP + IMXEBOOKDC4

OS: Android 7.1.1
Linux Kernel: 4.1.15

In the U-Boot prompt, set the U-Boot environment variables as shown below:

U-Boot > setenv bootcmd boota mmc0

U-Boot > setenv bootargs console=ttymxc0,115200 init=/init androidboot.console=ttymxc0
consoleblank=0 androidboot.hardware=freescale

video=mxcepdcfb:E060SCM,bpp=16 max17135:pass=2,vcom=-2370000

U-Boot > saveenv

However, nothing is displayed in the EPD.
(LVDC is displayed normally)

With the combination of MCIMX6DL-SDP + IMXEBOOKDC4
Can not EPD be displayed?

refer to the 4.1.15 release note:For 7D-SABRE-SD (EPDC panel upgrade
to DC4): video=mxcepdcfb:ED060XC8, pls try to use this, or use ED060XH2C1 to replace E060SCM, E060SCM is old panel parameter.

Is MCIMX6DL-SDP not compatible with IMXEBOOKDC4?

(Even if we correspond to the above, there is no change)

Do I have to substitute 7D-SABRE-SD?

mx6dl can use it, but E060SCM isn't for DC4, so if you use DC4, pls try other parameter

try other parameter.

However, it did not change.
(Only the backlight glows)

Could you show me all the bootenv parameters?

I am setting the following.

MCIMX6DL-SDP + IMXEBOOKDC4

OS: Android 7.1.1
Linux Kernel: 4.1.15

U-Boot > setenv fastboot_dev mmc1

U-Boot > setenv bootcmd boota mmc1

U-Boot > setenv bootargs console=ttymxc0,115200 init=/init

vmalloc=128M androidboot.console=ttymxc0 consoleblank=0 androidboot.hardware=freescale cma=448M

U-Boot > saveenv

I attached a log

pls check if your hardware is correct or not, normally, DC4 isn't designed for mx6dl sdp board, DC4 is for mx6sl and mx7, maybe you have issue on hardware part, you need to confirm this first.

"mx6dl can use it, but E060SCM isn't for DC4, so if you use DC4, pls try other parameter"

Is the above answer wrong?

if you use mx6dl sdp board, it couldn't support DC4 directly, if you changed the hardware, yes mx6dl can support this, I don't know what staus of  yours, did you change anything about his?
