Hi,

Based on the power points that I've seen, IMX6 does not support VP9. Is this really the case?

Also, in terms of VPU's encoder power consumption, and/or throughput, what is the difference between the IMX6 and IMX7 chips?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter

suppored formats are given in Table 69-1 Supported Decoding/Encoding Standards

i.MX6DQ Reference Manual (rev.2  7/2014)

http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/ref_manual/IMX6DQRM.pdf

so seems vp9 not supported. IMX7 processors have not vpu.

Best regards

igor
