Current sinking capability of iMX7 GPIOs when configured as Open Drain outputs

Hi,

I was trying to find the current sinking abillity of GPIO pins of the iM7D SoC when configured as open drain output.

I could find the current sinking/sourcing capability for Push/Pull outputs but not for open drain outputs in the iMX7 datasheet:

A peripheral pin would be driving a CMOS Chip that is biased (supply voltage is at 5V). So I was thinking if it is possible to configure this pin(iMX7) as open drain and pull it up through a resistor to 5V to interface these devices.

Hi Deepak

for open drain such data is not specified and it can be considered the same

as current sinking/sourcing capability for Push/Pull outputs. It is not possible to

pull it up through a resistor to 5V as input voltage should not exceed OVDD+0.3V

according to Table 7. Absolute maximum ratings datasheet. Also there are protection

diodes at pad connected to OVDD and ground.
