Hi NXP

The ZSDK release note for version 4.1.0 specifies BLE qualification IDs for host and controller for the SDK version:

3.3.4.2 Bluetooth LE controller certification DN#: Q338616 Link: @https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/265687
3.3.4.3 Thread
Bluetooth LE Host Zephyr Certification DN#: Q305748 Link: @https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/227830

For subsequent releases (See @https://github.com/nxp-zephyr/nxp-zsdk/releases/) there not specified any qualification IDs. Do this imply that the BLE qualification ids are also valid for @v4.2.0 ? If this is not the case, then what are the qualification roadmap of NXP;
will NXP regularly requalify new releases or is this left for the customers to do?

Regards Tonny

Hi, @tobg

Which NXP Bluetooth product are you using?

If you provide me the product part number, I can provide you our controller side QDID for Bluetooth certification.

For the below links you provided, I could not open it successfully.

3.3.4.2 Bluetooth LE controller certification DN#: Q338616 Link: @https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/265687
3.3.4.3 Thread
Bluetooth LE Host Zephyr Certification DN#: Q305748 Link: @https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/227830

Best regards,

Christine.

Hi Christine

We are using the RW612 MCU together with the Zephyr RTOS.

On Zephyr, NXP provides its own HAL (including the BLE controller SW) which is applied as a binary blob.

The NXP documentation specifies BLE qualification numbers for SDK 4.1 for both BLE host and controller, but not for subsequent releases.

So my question is; can we refer to the qualification IDs listed for release 4.1 in subsequent releases? If not, then what is the roadmap for BLE qualification, i.e. at what SDK version will a new BLE qualification be performed?

The links I provided are from the NXP documentation.

Best regards Tonny

The release note from NXP Zephyr SDK 4.1.0 can be found here:
https://github.com/nxp-zephyr/nxp-zsdk/releases/download/nxp-v4.1.0/wireless-soc-features-and-releas...

It lists the referred BLE qualification links :
3.3.4.2 Bluetooth LE controller certification
DN#: Q338616
Link: https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/265687
3.3.4.3 Thread
Bluetooth LE Host Zephyr Certification
DN#: Q305748
Link: https://qualification.bluetooth.com/ListingDetails/227830

If you look at subsequent release notes in Releases · nxp-zephyr/nxp-zsdk you will not find information about which qualification are appropriate for the releases.

Hi, @tobg

Thanks for your quick reply.

Are you using v4.2.0 ?

If yes, then you will see below link, it also includes the qualification info.

https://github.com/nxp-zephyr/nxp-zsdk/blob/nxp-v4.2-branch/doc/wireless/release-notes/topics/rw610r...

And we always suggest customer to choose official Zephyr release, such as: V4.1.0 or V4.2.0, but not v4.2.0.1 some versions like this.

Please let me know whether have any other concerns on this case.

If no, please do not hesitate to mark my answer as a solution so that we can close this case.

Please feel free to create new case to us if you meet any other questions in future using our products.

Best regards,

Christine.
