Must we purchase USB dongle with valid node-lock license?

Hello,

Sorry for my entry level question, but when we purchase USB dongle for CW for PPC (P/N: CWH-DONGLE),

we must purchase node-lock license also (such as CWP-BASIC-NL, CWP-PRO-NL).

This understanding is correct?

And if we already have a valid license for CW and we already activated it for ordinary volume serial number of HDD,

can we re-activate this license for USB dongle if we just purchase USB dongle? 

Of course, we must discard our current volume serial number based license.dat file if FSL allows us for this license type change.

Hello Norihiro

Yes, you can rehost your old license to be locked on your new Dongle ID.

To rehost the license,  please log on Freescale’s website (www.freescale.com) with your  email address.  Please:

1. Log in to My Freescale using your registered member ID and password
2. Click on Software Licensing and support — page appears showing your currently licensed products
3. Select the CodeWarrior tool and version you are using.
4. Click on ‘License key’ tab for on the page for this tool,  click on ‘Generate’ button to input the Host ID and generate license.

Please also attach your old license, the new hard disk ID, or Ethernet Address, as well as the CodeWarrior version you are using. To get it, please:

1)Start the IDE and click on Help | About Freescale(Metrowerks) CodeWarrior.

2)Click on Installed Products

3)Provide us all info displayed. Or you can save them in a txt file.
