Hi,

I have a problem when I installed the floating licens on our license server. I have a

CodeWarrior Development Suite for Networked Applications, Specialist Level, Floating License.

When I run the licence manager I get the following error:

12:30:41 (metrowks) DDR_Validation_QorIQ CMSISDAP       PE_SCENARIOS

12:30:41 (metrowks) Exiting

12:30:41 (metrowks) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 33 Exit reason 1

What should I do?

Thanks

Hi Per,

The Redundancy 3 servers feature was worked fine in the past.

Several customers used this feature.

Is there a problem about it now ?

I don't know. I've never heard problem with this feature.

I recommend you to create a case with the new system and provide us the license file you've generated.

To be sure the license is working fine, I recommend to generate a sample floating license locked on 1 server.

On our side we can re-encrypt the license from 1 server to 3 servers based on the current license file you're using.

Hi,

I don't think there's a problem with "Redundancy 3 servers feature", but we run other licenses on our license server and I think the mix of "Redundancy 3 servers feature" and "single server" don't work.
I can't change the other licenses that run on our server, so I was thinking if I could change our "Redundancy 3 servers feature" to "single server" instead?

Hi Per,

did you tried to run the redundancy 3 servers service only ?

I mean how is it working if you stop the service for floating license for 1 server.

does the license for 1 service is for codeWarrior tool too ?

    which one ?

Have a great day,

Hi,

No I have not tried  to run the redundancy 3 servers service only yet. I can't do that before the workday is done, otherwise a lot of Orcad users will be very angry with me :smileywink: I'll test it tonight.

does the license for 1 service is for codeWarrior tool too ?

    which one ?

Don't understand the question, BUT I think the best thing for me now is to get/convert to the single server floating licens.

It's more important for me to get it working than having "redundancy 3 servers service".

Thanks

Per,

You're using 2 floating license file (Redundancy 3 servers and 1-server).

Just want to know if both floating licenses are for CodeWarrior products or if it's the 3-Servers one only.

Hi Pascal,

The other license (1-server) is not a CodeWarrior product. We have only one CodeWarrior license (Redundancy 3 servers ).

Thanks for your help

Hi Per,

According to the log file, the service can not be launched because the server 2 and server 3 are not running.

6:48:26 (lmgrd) Trying to establish connections to other redundant servers...

6:48:26 (lmgrd) Attempting connection to secondary redundant server appear-src.appeartv.lan

6:48:26 (lmgrd) Attempting connection to tertiary redundant server appear-pub.appeartv.lan

6:48:31 (lmgrd) Connection attempt to secondary redundant server appear-src.appeartv.lan failed

6:48:31 (lmgrd) Connection attempt to tertiary redundant server appear-pub.appeartv.lan failed

A redundancy 3 servers required the service is launched (running) on 2 servers (minimum of).

This is not the case here and so the service can not be launched.

The configuration you did on Server 1 must be applied on Server 2 and Server 3.

Pascal

Hi,

Yes I understood that, BUT it will not help me because I will never be able to run with "redundancy 3 servers" on the primary license server due to the other licenses that is used on the server.

My main question is still, how do I convert my "redundancy 3 servers license" to "1 server license"!

Per,

Go to the web site and return the license file.

After you need to re-generate the license file and fill the info for 1 server only.

It's approximately the same process than "rehosting" explained in FAQ:

Hi Per,

I've checked in our data base and don't find any registration associated to your domain address excepted evaluation ones.

By 3-server do you mean the redundancy 3 servers feature ?

You will find more information about floating license in:

    http://cache.nxp.com/files/soft_dev_tools/doc/brochure/FLTLICINSTWINBR.pdf

and

How to install/check if my floating license file is running ? (known issues)

To continue to handle the problem we need more details and I recommend you to log your issue in the Case system.

Please provide us the license file you're using.

To submit your case into the new system, please follow below steps:

   1) Go to http://www.nxp.com/support/sales-and-support:SUPPORTHOME.

   2) On the bottom of the page under Submit New Issues, click Hardware & Software.

   3) Register with your business email to access NXP technical online support.

   4) A verification email will be sent to your account. Click the link embedded in that email to verify your access.

   5) On the NXP online support page, select Contact Support from the top menu and click “submit a new case” to start the process.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

I got/generated our floating licens (CodeWarrior Development Suites for Networked Applications, Specialist Level, CWA-LS-SPLST-FL) yesterday from your system. We have bought the licens from NXP in Norway/Sweden, not sure that's why you can't find us in the database?

Yes, I mean redundancy 3 servers feature. Sorry for being unclear. I'm wondering if generating redundancy 3 servers was a mistake, maybe I should have generated a single server licence instead?
