Hello,
Please have a look at following thread:
https://community.nxp.com/t5/S32K/question-about-S32K3X4EVB-OpenSDA-debugger/m-p/1420972
We have unified boot loader:
https://community.nxp.com/t5/S32K-Knowledge-Base/Unified-bootloader-Demo/ta-p/1423099
I want to confirm whether the S32K344 EVB officially supports the OpenSDA bootloader/firmware or not.
No, the S32K344 EVB-Q172 does not officially support OpenSDA bootloader or firmware.
Is there any plan to release OpenSDA firmware support for S32K3xx EVBs in the future?
Not from NXP.
If yes, could you please share the download link or the firmware package name?
To update or install OpenSDA on your NXP S32K3 board, download the latest OpenSDA firmware from the official PEmicro OpenSDA page and follow the instructions to place the board into bootloader mode.
Is there an official firmware or bootloader for the S32K344 EVB-Q172 that uses OpenSDA?
No.
f not, what is the recommended way to debug and program the S32K344 EVB (e.g., P&E Multilink, J-Link, NXP S32 Debug Probe)?
PEMIcro, Segger, Lauterbach, PLS, etc....
Since OpenSDA is not supported on the S32K344 EVB-Q172, NXP recommends using external debug probes:
1. NXP S32 Debug Probe
- Officially supported by NXP for S32K3xx devices.
- Works seamlessly with S32 Design Studio (S32DS).
- Supports JTAG and SWD protocols.
2. P&E Micro Debuggers
- Multilink Universal / FX: Good for development.
- Cyclone FX: Ideal for production programming.
- Fully supported in S32DS and other IDEs.
3. SEGGER J-Link
- Compatible with S32K344.
- Supported in SEGGER Embedded Studio and other IDEs.
4. Lauterbach debbuger
- Expensive, but best, preferred by NXP engineers.
Best regards,
Peter
