Program partition command

Dear all, when I read mannual chapter 36.5.11.14 Program Partition command, has the following comment:

CAUTION

While different partitions of the FlexNVM are available, the intention is that a single partition choice is used throughout the entire lifetime of a given application. The FlexNVM Partition Code choices affect the endurance and data retention characteristics of the device .

what's the meaning of this this passage?

Hello, 

Within the FlexNVM you have different partitions (data flash, emulated EEPROM, etc.), however, to increase the endurance and data retention characteristics of the device it's recommended that you use only a single partition.
