Hi,
did you tried install latest S32DS v3.6? It uses different Java version and there is high chance that the issue will be solved.

Hi,
Yes, I tried to install the version 3.6.
I tried with java-11 and java-21, with exactly the same result with both - installation is stuck to the screen shown in the opening post.

Hi,
S32DS v3.6 requires Java 17. Did you met all requirements for Linux installations? In attachment is Installation guide.

Hi,
I tried with java-17, and then also with 11 and 21. But I did not meet all the other requirements, as I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 - some required packages are not available for it. I installed whatever was available though.
The installation guide says "S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform 3.6.0 supports all editions of the operating systems listed above and is limited only by the requirements of the Java Runtime Environment." which I interpreted as supporting other Ubuntu editions too. But is it so that only 20.04 is supported?

S32DS was tested only with Ubuntu 20.04. It is probably possible run S32DS on newer versions, but it is not tested and you need to use some hack skills.
I'm mostly Linux guy, but there is less than 5% S32DS downloads for Linux (which is in my opinion sad), that's why there is OS version restrictions and you need to install manually 32 bit libraries and so on. Also some features like RTD is not supported on Linux version.

I am also facing same issue. What is the timeline for a resolution? Installation gets stuck at 6% every time. Tried installing with and without a network connection. Is there an offline method for activating the Design Studio 3.5 on Ubuntu 20.04?

Hi Lovro,
thanks a lot for the Java error log! We aren't able to reproduce the issue, but hope that log file will help to find root cause of the issue. I'll be back when we found solution.

Hi,
I'm still facing the same issue. Is there a known solution at this point or at least a known cause?
Thank you

Hi jiri_kral,
thank you for responding and looking into the issue. Here are some additional information so we can rule out potential causes.
1. I checked the integrity of the downloaded installer and it's correct.
lovro.jakic@ra-b203-ltu:~/Downloads$ md5sum S32DS.3.5_b220726_linux.x86_64.bin
65e7ede55835608c44731a1eaaad60a2 S32DS.3.5_b220726_linux.x86_64.bin
2. FNPLicensingService is successfully installed and active. "fnp_install.log" is in the attachments.
lovro.jakic@ra-b203-ltu:/usr/local/share/FNP/service64/11.18.2$ ./FNPLicensingService -r
Licensing Service daemon already active
lovro.jakic@ra-b203-ltu:/usr/local/share/FNP/service64/11.18.2$ ./FNPLicensingService -s
11.18.2.0:x86_64:19862:0
3. There are no other errors in logs, except for that java one in the previous response, but regardless, I will attach the ones that I found "e10144dd18dac94b818.details" and "lax-8586466944735677875-err.tmp".
4. I checked the shared libraries required by the "libcll_app_libFNP.so" which failed in that Java log and everything looks fine to me.
lovro.jakic@ra-b203-ltu:/tmp/696291.tmp/cll/x64$ file libcll_app_libFNP.so
libcll_app_libFNP.so: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, stripped

libdl.so.2 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f604d741000)
If you have any suggestions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Lovro

Hi swhite39,
No resolution for this stuck issue as of now. Support was also provided by NXP team itself over the call for the installation, but no any breakthroughs. NXP team is checking at their end right now.

Hi Michael,
there is couple similar issues - we are looking at it. It looks, that the installer in some particular cases is stuck with trying to connect to license server, but the reason is not known yet.
Today I tried reproduce it on my side, but no success.
