S12ZVC Power supply Issue

Hi

I am using s12zvc evaluation board MC9S12zvc. Recently I lost three boards (Controller heating once supply is connected, No VDDA, VDDX and VDDC supply) and dont know the reason. There is no problem from the power supply side, I have given 12V supply to the board with Aplab Bench Supply. Is there any one having same issue or anybody cna suggest the possible reason for the chip failure.

Hi kiran,

When controller heating once supply is connected, it typically means that there is some short on board or MCU is damaged. MCU may be damaged by strong ESD or by some electrical issue – typically when we connect 12V signal to any of 5V inputs.

Unfortunately I am not sure what could be root cause in your case.
