Hi,

I am interfacing DDR3L and NOR Flashes with T1042. Both of these external devices does not support JTAG. Does it mean i cannot use the JTAG feature of T1042 to test the connectivity on the board? What are the functions of JTAG other than checking connectivity?

JTAG interface in T1042 is not only boundary scan interface, but also debug interface - debugger can be connected to that interface and execute code on target processor under debugger control. Using this method, you can test your DDR memory by bringing up processor' DDR controller and executing memory test code. Also, this JTAG debug interface is used to execute Flash Programmer code at target processor for in-system NOR flash programming.

Could you please tell me which JTAG connector should i use with T1042? The COP connector or the Aurora?

JTAG connector is sometimes mentioned as "COP" or "JTAG/COP" because debig interface connecter over standart JTAG interface is named "COP". Aurora is another, high speed debug interface.
