TJA1043 VBAT Pin

Hi NXP support Team,

I have a doubt regading for VBAT pin in this part TJA1043. Please let me know the function of VBAT pin. In the datasheet there some point i got. but couldn't understand proper function of this PIN.

Hi Jitendra,

please refer to the section 7.2.2 in the TJA1043 datasheet. If you leave the VBAT floating, the UVbat flag will be set. If both VDD and VDDIO will be supplied, the TJA1043 will switch to Standby mode. You will not be able to set the TJA1043 to Normal mode if the VBAT will be not powered.

Hi Jitendra,

the TJA1043 is intended to be used mainly in automotive. There are usually 12V lead batteries available. It's just a supply pin. The VBAT can withstand voltage up to 40V.
